What that means in practice
Many of the guides on this site link to camera bodies, lenses, filters, tripods, memory cards, bags, and printers sold by third-party retailers. Some of those are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly.
NaturePhotoGear.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
We also display advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising revenue is entirely separate from our editorial recommendations — we have no control over which specific ads appear, and advertisers have no input into our content.
How this affects what we recommend — and what it does not
It does not affect it. We say this plainly because the incentive is real and worth naming: a site that earns commissions has a financial reason to tell you to buy things. Here is how we handle that.
- We recommend the gear we think is genuinely right for the job, including when the right answer is cheaper gear, older gear, or the gear you already own.
- We tell you when a piece of equipment is not worth the money, and when a spec that sounds impressive will not change your photographs.
- Commission rates vary between products and categories. We do not weight recommendations toward higher-paying items.
- No manufacturer or retailer pays us for a favorable review, and none of them see our articles before publication.
- Where our testing is limited — where we have worked from published specifications, manufacturer documentation, or verified compatibility data rather than extended hands-on field use — we say so in the article itself rather than implying experience we do not have.
Compatibility charts and specifications
Several of our guides publish compatibility data — filter thread sizes, teleconverter pairings, memory card formats, tripod thread standards. We verify this information against manufacturer documentation at the time of writing. Manufacturers do revise specifications, and errors are possible. Confirm critical compatibility with the manufacturer before purchasing, and if you find something wrong on this site, please tell us so we can correct it.
Prices and availability
Prices mentioned in our articles were accurate at the time of writing and change frequently. The retailer’s listing is always the authoritative source for current price and stock.
